Establishment of the Center for International Education and Research (CIER)
- The “Center for International Education and Research (CIER)” has been established in order to promote the planning of Gunma University’s international strategies including international exchange and exchange among foreign students on our campus through the consolidation of the functions of the International Exchange Planning Office, established in June 2006, with the activities of our Center for International Studies, established in April 1999 as a campus-wide collaborative education research facility.
- In accordance with the fundamental principles of our school, and in order to demonstrate an active cooperation that corresponds with the intent of the “300,000 Foreign Students Plan” enacted by the Japanese government, Gunma University has established the “Center for International Education and Research (CIER)” as a core facility designed to support our continuing efforts in attracting highly capable students from various countries throughout the world.
Center deals with
- International academic exchange programs,
- Promotion of international academic programs,
- Japanese language learning courses for international students,
- Advisement services on life in Japan for international students, and
- Short-term study-abroad programs for GU students.
